| ACCOMMODATION |

This non-smoking house is a traditional “maison de village” with a wood stove in the fireplace and a lovely terrace overlooking the hills and valley surrounding the village. The house is comfortably arranged, with two good sized bedrooms, and large “sejour” or living/dining/kitchen room. The upstairs bedroom has a radio and television, sofa bed and easy chairs, as well as a single bed in a separate alcove. There is a bathroom with a shower and clothes washer. A good sized terrace with a BBQ and lounge chairs as well as a clothes line is upstairs off the second bedroom.

| LIVING ROOM |
A lovely room, overlooking the hills and valley and with a door to the large terrasse, houses a double sofa bed, TV, radio/tape player and a sleeping alcove with a single bed, as well as a computer desk with the broad band hub. |

| KITCHEN |
A traditional 'sejour', this room embodies the heart of a french house, with the very well equipped kitchen and pantry, a dining table and chairs, and a couple of easy chairs around the hearth. |

| BEDROOM(S) |
The master bedroom is adjacent to the bathroom and contains a very comfortable double bed as well as the telephone table and a couple of easy chairs. Ample storage space is provided by the wardrobe and chest of drawers, and the laundry hamper. |

| LOCAL TOURISM |
Les Salces is a picturesque village in Languedoc, one hour west of Montpellier. It is located close to the two charming market towns of Lodeve and Clermont l'Herault, in a beautiful region known for its outstanding wine and lovely scenery. It is close to a river and lake which afford excellent swimming, as well as the Mediteanean. Within close range are several wonderful walled towns and villages, including Carcasonne and la Couvertoirade. Also nearby is the spectacular viaduct near Millau, a feat of modern engineering in a striking setting. |

| OTHER INFORMATION |
The charming Languedoc village of Les Salces, where Ian McEwan bought a home that inspired his novel “Black Dogs”, is conveniently located west of Montpellier, in a beautiful region becoming known for its wonderful and competitively-priced wine as well as for its diverse artistic community. Next door to our house a sculptor lives and works and there are several others in the adjacent villages, as well as a thriving group of potters 20 minutes away in St. Jean de Fos, a village with a rich clay bed. Local markets are fascinating and full of excellent local produce, without the crowd of tourists present in many other areas of France. The village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert is just a few kilometers away, and was declared a National Site in 1999. Several local swimming and hiking spots as well as the nearby Mediterranean beaches and towns make this destination one with limitless local attractions for those with an interest in the arts, outdoor activities, food and wine.
