Limoux is a bustling small town with all amenities you could wish for, the River Aude runs through the middle in which you can bath in the summer or if you wish you can use the towns excellent indoor and out door municipal pools.

Market day is Friday although there is a Tuesday evening Market during July and August.

Limoux is famous for 'Blanquette' which is an excellent sparkling wine, you can visit many local caves to sample this and the local AOC wines.

Being in the heart of Cathar country with it's abbeys and castles and just 20 minutes from Carcassonne to the north, about 1 hour from the nearest ski station in the pyrenees to the south, 1 hour from the beach at Narbonne Plage to the east and 1/2 an hour from the medeaval town of Mirepoix to the west, Limoux is ideally situated as a base to discover the delights of the beautiful Languedoc.

If you just want to relax and watch the world go by you can walk just 80 metres to the Place de la Republique and join in the cafe culture in one of the bars or restaurants. During the summer months Limoux has many fetes and concerts and during the winter there is the famous carnival each weekend betwwen mid January and mid March.

Limoux is 20 minutes away from Carcassonne airport which is served by Ryanair. This is also an ideal destination for weekend or mid week breaks.
