“La Tuilerie” is set in this beautiful, tranquil valley, alongside a river, with stunning, uninterrupted views of the Corbieres hills. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat together with unspoilt countryside, this is the location for you.

This lovely old stone farmhouse features two double bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms, with separate toilets and a third single bedroom. The house has been restored to the highest standards, using only quality materials. There is a private dining terrace to the rear of the property, overlooking an orchard, river and mountains.

To the front is a garden with views of vineyards surrounded by the Corbieres hills. To the side of the property is a beautiful river featuring a waterfall and large rockpool.

The farmhouse has heating throughout together with a wood burning stove to keep you snug in the winter and thick walls, combined with double glazing to keep you cool in the summer. Hot water is produced through our environmentally friendly solar panels.

The large living room has a television, featuring all the main British channels, including radio stations, plus a stereo, cd’s and dvd’s. The bibliotek features many interesting books, including some on the Cathar region.

There is a separate dining room leading off the kitchen which is fully equipped with quality appliances, including a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

The two large double rooms, with french style beds, both have their own ensuite bathrooms, which feature both baths and walk-in showers. A hairdryer and sets of towels are provided but no beach towels.

There is also a toilet/wash basin in the cloakroom downstairs. A small welcome pack is provided in the fridge, including a welcome gift.

To the side of the property is the river garden (shared access) with stone steps leading down to the river/rockpool. There is your own private, south facing garden, with table/chairs, barbecue, sun loungers, a selection of fruit trees and views to the river. An outside dedicated parking space is provided.

There are two nearby lakes and rockpools for swimming/picnics, within just a few minute’s drive. Fresh bread is delivered in the morning, six days a week. The local village of Servies en Val, with it’s medieval chateau, is only a ten minute walk and has a post office, grocery store (with many delightful local products), bakers, tobacconist, cash machine, wine cellar, hairdressers and a garage, also selling petrol.

The medieval village of Lagrasse, a fifteen minute drive away has numerous cafes and restaurants.

Everything at “la tuilerie” has been put together with great care and attention to detail to ensure you have a superb holiday. You’ll be hard pushed to find another rental property offering these high standards.

Our properties are situated in the stunning and rugged countryside of the Corbieres wine growing region, in the peaceful valley of the Val de Dagne, at the foothills of the Corbieres hills. The river Alsou runs through the valley, with its clear waters and large stocks of fish. There are two local lakes for swimming/picnics and a beautiful secluded rockpool, all fed from natural water sources. A short drive south and you're heading up into the Corbieres hills towards the historic Cathar castles (including Peyrepertuse and Queribus) and the Pyrenean mountains.

Across the hills to the west, you'll discover St Hilaire with its ancient fortified abbey where the monks not only discovered how to put the bubble into wine but also how to cork it and retain the fizz, way back in 1531. This wine is known as Blanquette and a further drive west will bring you to Limoux, where Blanquette production is centred.
